Mighty Microns
At the heart Decantique is a powerful, electronically charged field of bubbles less than 10 microns each in size. For reference, a grain of table salt is 40 microns.
Tiny holes in an aeration tip at the end of a stainless-steel tube allow for these perfectly sized bubbles to push air upwards into the bottle, oxygenating the wine.
Oxygenation triggers chemical reactions that transform the wine's flavor and aroma profile.
30 Seconds or Less
A light white wine can take up to 30 minutes to aerate in a traditional decanter. A young, tannic red wine can take up to 2 hours to aerate.
Decantique is designed to rapidly aerate both white and red wine in 30 seconds or less.
Between 5 and 22 seconds of aeration time for red wines is ideal. For reference, a full-bodied 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon red wine requires only 12 seconds to fully aerate using Decantique.
Every wine is unique, so aerating your wine in short stages, then sampling is recommended.
Love at First Pour
Decantique’s glass decanting chamber serves multiple purposes.
The decanting chamber captures the aerating wine as it pushes up from the bottle. A small LED light built into the pump housing illuminates the bubble field for a unique presentation. After the pump stops, the chamber allows the bubbles to funnel back into the bottle.
The decanting chamber provides an elegant pouring solution, further elevating the Decantique aeration experience.
